![]() She keeps inching forward in terms of progress. Also waiting on shock bodies and 500k diff fluid. Waiting for rear beadlock wheels and XTREME RC carbon fiber rings. Usually I do not care much how my hardware looks or matches, but on this build I am making that effort. My goal was to get the car under 1" of chassis clearance. I am waiting for STRC aluminum shock bodies to get here, but that does not stop me from getting the plastics in there to test the fit and chassis height. I went with traxxas ultra shocks in SHORT. With the shorter towers I needed 65mm shocks. Great craftsmanship!! They look pretty sweet as well. Then I swapped out the RPM full height towers with carbon fiber low towers from Xtreme RC. Even in stock form the Bandit doesn’t want to keep the front end down on high grip pavement. As my experience from last week showed me, a wheelie bar is an absolute must. I feel better with the 32p, but if I want to later, I can toss a Proline 48p on there. After some test hits as a stock buggy last week, my Traxxas Bandit is now beginning the conversion from buggy to drag car. Today I swapped the RPM converted transmission with one of the new 32p Proline full transmissions. So maybe in October I will be selling the built spare parts slider. Their site says "A Few Weeks" delay.but on the FB pages for No Prep, people are reporting 8-10 weeks until they received their orders. Likely will sell once the RCRI chassis eventually gets here. I will have enough "spare" parts to do a 2nd build OR Sell a sweet slider with transmission to some lucky soul. Shop our online store for everything rc crawlers, rc cars, and rc trucks and keep the fun going. Built for the October 2016 issue, this customized Bandit sports a one-piece aluminum chassis to give it its super stretched stance, plus a few other choice mods. Traxxas, The Fastest Name in Radio Control® is the number-one selling name in Ready-To-Race® nitro and electric RC crawler, cars and trucks. The purchase of 65mm shocks to replace the new Long Traxxas Ultra ShocksĪnd me sitting on some older but viable electronics. Peter Vieira Featured, Uncategorized 2 Comments This was a fun one. The purchase of the CF low towers to replace the new RPM tall towers The purchase of various extra turnbuckles The build of the "Stock Trans" with 32p external gearing, locker, and RPM Case that is getting replaced by the Proline 32p model. The purchase of a VERY delayed (non-refundable) RCRI Drag Chassis (8 weeks out still) ![]() The funny part of this is that I intended to build the one car from the list of parts. Traxxas turnbuckles f/r steering and camber I bought an Xtreme Drag Chassis and built from there. I planned to start with a Bandit slider, but this ended up being a from scratch build. And having moved from Chicago to Nashville I learned that there is no crawling scene here. ![]() Built-in low-voltage detection in the VXL-3s™ ESC helps you maintain your LiPo battery packs in top condition. After being out of RC for 6+ years, I dug my crawlers out of the attic, and learned that comp 2.2 moa is dead. These packs pump out over 11 volts of power for intense, skill level 5 speeds beyond 70mph! Nothing else even comes close. Velineon accepts the widest range of battery types, including 3-cell Lithium Polymer (LiPo) packs. With the Bandit VXL, your battery selection determines your speed and skill level. The Velineon brushless motor and electronic speed control (ESC) work together as an optimized package to deliver the ultimate in efficiency, speed, and run time. Proven, Class-Leading Velineon Brushless Power While fun in this form, it’s time to extend the wheelbase and bring it up to snuff as an SCT drag car. When we last left it, the car was basically a stock Traxxas Bandit VXL that had JConcepts Hotties tires and an STRC Wheelie Bar installed. You may not even realize how much it is helping until you try to drive without it. Today we are going to resume talking about my Traxxas Bandit Drag Car project. TSM can be fine-tuned (or turned off) for different surfaces by simply adjusting the multi-function knob on the TQi transmitter, or by adjusting the slider in the Traxxas Link app. TSM does all this without intruding on driving fun or introducing unexpected side effects. TSM even improves braking by keeping the buggy arrow straight until you reach a complete stop. When cornering, TSM intuitively corrects the vehicle’s line for faster exit speeds. Go ahead, punch it off the line! TSM senses the vehicle’s direction and makes steering corrections to provide full throttle acceleration without fishtailing or spinouts. Traxxas Stability Management TSM ® lets you experience the Bandit’s extreme power, speed, and acceleration by making it much easier to control on slippery surfaces such as loose dirt, smooth concrete, and even ice and snow.
